If Christmas is already in the retro, that of Nicolas Ciamin continues. The driver, who will turn 26 on February 18, will participate in several rounds of WRC2. After having successively carried out a test session with the Citroën C3 Rally2 then one with the new Toyota Yaris Rally2, he decided to compete in his program with a Hyundai i20 Rally2. His mount will be followed by the 2C Competition team. It will be a reunion since the two parties had already collaborated in 2022, Nicolas winning two victories in France, at Le Touquet and Le Var.
In 2024, several appearances are expected in WRC2. Nicolas will seek to make an impression as he was able to do this season, particularly in Croatia where he fought for the podium before making a mistake and even more so in Central Europe. In very difficult conditions, he won in WRC2 ahead of competitors who had competed in all the rounds.
Next year, two participations have already been marked on the calendar. Nicolas Ciamin will indeed be at the start of Monte-Carlo (January 25-28) where he has not been since 2021 (3e WRC3) and then Croatia (April 18-21). By deciding to race with an i20, the Riviera is taking an original path. This will perhaps be an opportunity for him to get noticed by Hyundai, which has still not announced what its 2024 program will consist of as part of the customer competition. The main interested party can also hope to benefit from the significant developments which are planned for the Korean in 2024 in terms of the chassis and the engine.
For the rest of the sports program, Nicolas Ciamin has indicated that this “will be defined mainly by our first results. »
