Ott Tänak wins easily in Estonia

Ott Tänak did not make any details at the Estonian Rally, with an easy success at the wheel of the Toyota Yaris WRC ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) and Espaekka Lappi (Citroën).

Ott Tänak wins easily in Estonia

Winner of seven special stages out of nine yesterday during the first stage and solid leader, Ott Tänak (Toyota) did even better this Sunday at Rally of Estonia, by winning all of the six SS on the menu for this final stage of this preparatory event for the Rally of Finland, contested as part of the WRC early August.

Despite a puncture in SS11, Tänak logically won at the finish of the Baltic rally with a 1'03″5 lead over Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) and 1'27″1 on Esapekka Lappi (Citroën), the Finn having slipped without major consequences in the morning.

Elfyn Evans (M-Sport Ford) and Craig Breen (Hyundai) complete the top 5, only separated by 8″7 at the finish. Markko Martin finished sixth in his Ford Fiesta WRC just ahead of category winner Oliver Solberg (Volkswagen Polo R5).

“It was a good weekend, emphasizes Tänak. We can see the large number of people we have here... it really is a rally nation and I think it's great to have this event here with the manufacturers. »
