Ott Tänak reigns over Finland

4th victory in 2019, 10th career victory, the 2nd in a row in Finland... The numbers add up for Ott Tänak in Finland this weekend, at the end of an event that he has dominated since taking power on Saturday morning.

From then on, the pilot of the Toyota Gazoo Racing did not hesitate to stay at the forefront and even concluded the rally with victory in the Power Stage, with the five bonus points awarded.

“I feel great, Tänak blurted. It was a great weekend. I think the summer holidays came at the right time, because I was really devastated after Sardinia.

We got the perfect result, we had a great weekend and we have to continue in the same way. There are still 5 rallies to go. There remains a lot of work. »

Enough to leave Finland with the perfect score of 30 points and above all a lead of 22 points over Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) and 25 on Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), both absent from the podium of the “1000 Lakes”.

Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) and Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota), fifth in the Power Stage, accompany Tänak on the box at the end of this weekend, ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai), third in the Power Stage.

Sébastien Ogier (Citroën), ill during the night from Friday to Saturday, gave everything but failed in 5th position ahead of Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), the two drivers however gleaning 4 and 2 bonus points in the Power Stage.

Craig Breen (Hyundai) for its return in WRC finished 7th after deliberately clocking in late before SS22 and thus letting Thierry Neuville pass in the standings. Teemu Suninen (M-Sport Ford) completes the WRC rankings.

In WRC2 Pro, victory for Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) ahead of Eric Camilli (Ford), while Nikolay Gryazin (Skoda) won in WRC2.
