The Shipyard is open for the Safari Rally

If it is imperative that a WRC round takes place in Africa, what should it look like? Perhaps obsessed with its legendary past, the 2022 Safari was undoubtedly too demanding, causing a race by elimination. If it wants to maintain the plebiscite of the main players, the rally will have to evolve further.

Last year, the Safari Rally Kenya made a successful return to the world championship after almost twenty years of absence. Not everything had been perfect, but enormous potential had emerged, particularly with regard to the country itself.

In the calendar, the Safari Rally has always been a separate destination, and despite the passage of twenty years, this remains the case. The shock occurs as soon as we set foot in Nairobi with new benchmarks, other parameters and different rules to integrate. The transfer between the capital and the small town of Naivasha is not very long, but it is already an adventure in itself, especially when it dives into the Rift Valley. With its multitude of colors, Kenya is a magnificent place and the region where the event takes place offers an exciting diversity with wooded areas, volcanoes, very open meadows, lakes... Also in terms of the profile of the roads, the choice is wide and combined
