1. Who is André Negrão?
André Negrão is a Brazilian racing driver, his date of birth is June 17, 1992. His birthplace is Campinas. He rides for the Signatech team Alpine, became Alpine Elf Matmut, since 2017. He is a double champion of the World Endurance Championship with Signatech Alpine Matmut in 2018 and 2019, in the LMP2 category. Lulled into the world of motorsport from a young age by his father, Guto, his uncle Xandy and his cousin Xandinho, all racing drivers, he began his career by accompanying his cousin to the 500 Miles Kart of Granja Viana, in 2003.

André Negrão began his career in karting. He was runner-up in Brazilian kart in 2006. The same year, he competed in his first championship in Europe, Formula Renault 2.0. André Negrão also drives in the Formula Renault Winter Series, as well as in Italy, Switzerland and South American F3. In 2010 he competed in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and British Formula Renault, as well as Italian Formula Abarth and the Formula 3 Open in Brazil. André Negrão moved to the World Series by Renault 3.5 in 2011, then to GP2 in 2014 and 2015.

After a stint in Indy Lights and a test in IndyCar, André Negrão finally moved to the World Endurance Championship in 2017 with Signatech Alpine. He competed in his first 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2 in 2017 with a third place in class. The Brazilian won Le Mans in 2018 then 2019, in LMP2. After a 4th place at the 24 2020 Hours of Le Mans, the native of Campinas continues the adventure with Alpine Elf Matmut in the Hypercar category in 2021. Negrão finished third overall with theAlpine A480 which he shares with his teammates Nicolas Lapierre and Matthieu Vaxiviere.

André Negrão is a sure bet in the Endurance World Championship andAlpine, a team in which he has been since his debut in Endurance in 2017. His various WEC titles show that the Brazilian and Philippe Sinault made the right choice. Winning Le Mans in the general classification would be the culmination of a great joint adventure, after two successes in Sarthe in LMP2. His WEC experience makes him a key part of the team Alpine.
André Negrão performed well in his first season in the WEC, with five podiums including a victory in Austin in 2017. He won the LMP2 title for his second season in the WEC in 2018-2019. After a complicated 2019-2020 season in LMP2, he moved to the Hypercar category of the championship in 2021, still with Alpine Elf Matmut. The team signs its first pole position in the premier category of the championship in Portimão in 2021. 2022 is the year of confirmation with a second pole position, followed by the first ofAlpine in the WEC at Sebring.
