The IndyCar Series have confirmed the recruitment of Darren Sansum as the championship's head of engine development. Sansum, who will take office on February 6, worked at Ford, Cosworth and Ilmor Engineering before working at Toyota Racing Development in recent years, with the manufacturers' titles in Nascar and in 2016 2017.
The 47-year-old engineer will also be in charge of developing the next generation of IndyCar engines.
