IMSA-EL1: Wayne Taylor and Corvette at the forefront

The first free practice session of the Mosport event in Canada, counting for theIMSA Sportscar Championship, was dominated by the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP of Jordan Taylor. On a wet track, the American moved to the top of the timesheet by completing a best lap in 1'11"158 and ahead of Tristan Nunez's Mazda by almost a full second. The top three is completed by the No. 90 Corvette DP from Ryan Dalziel's VisitFlorida.com.

In GTLM, the official Corvette C7.Rs of Oliver Gavin and Antonio Garcia were the fastest, preceding the #6 Team RLL BMW M25 of Dirk Werner by almost four tenths and the first Ford GT of Ryan Briscoe. Nick Tandy places first Porsche 911 RSR from Porsche North America in fifth position, nine tenths behind.

Tom Kimber-Smith (No. 09 Oreca FLM52 – PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports) set the best time in PC while Andy Lally placed the No. 8 Audi R44 LMS – Magnus Racing in first place in the GTD category.
