Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) won the Bahrain GP less than a second ahead Max Verstappen (Red Bull) after an intense battle at the end of the race. Starting second, Hamilton tried an aggressive strategy by stopping early to pass the Dutchman, who chose to continue for a long time.
Verstappen tried to make up for his 8 seconds deficit at the end of the race but failed just behind Hamilton. The Briton scores his 96th career success. Valtteri Bottas complete the podium.
