Dani Sordo (Hyundai) took advantage of an error from Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) in SS10 of Rally from Germany to take 20 seconds from the Finn. The latter found himself stuck in a ditch.

It is Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) which signed the scratch in the 14,78km of Freisen with a time of 8'31''7 allowing it to regain 2 tenths from Ott Tänak (Toyota) and Dani Sordo. Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) followed more than 2 seconds ahead of Kris Meeke (Toyota). Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) failed by more than 4 seconds and lost 6 tenths to the Northern Irishman. Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) followed a second behind, ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) and Gus Greensmith (M-Sport).

Ott Tänak still has a 6”5 lead over Thierry Neuville. Sébastien Ogier retains 3rd place for 3”2 ahead of Kris Meeke. Jari-Matti Latvala follows his teammate by more than 5 seconds.
