The La Côte special? Praz de Lys? Sommand, the longest of the event (28,4km), caused a massacre among the participants. The first victim is Frédéric Comte who lost more than five minutes stopping to change a wheel on his Citroën C4 WRC while he was chasing Stéphane Sarrazin (Peugeot 307 WRC). Bryan Bouffier lost his seventh place after tearing a wheel off his 207 S2000 in an off-road accident. His pursuer Cédric Robert was not much luckier since he suffered a puncture and lost almost two minutes.

Stéphane Sarrazin sees victory getting a little closer. The misfortunes of Frédéric Comte, who fell to tenth place 19 seconds behind Porsche 997 GT3 of Anthony Cosson, propelled Jean-Marie Cuoq (Focus WRC) into second place, 34 seconds behind the leader who scored a new scratch in SS7. Julien Maurin (Fiesta WRC) climbs onto the provisional podium more than a minute behind the race leader. Gilles Nantet (Porsche 997 Cup) is now fourth with 23 seconds ahead of the Mini Countryman of Pierre Roché. Freddy Loix is now the first driver in 207 S2000 and is one minute ahead of Ludovic Gal.
