Sardinia – SS16: Evans stopped, Tänak continues
The problems keep coming for Elfyn Evans (Toyota). Already out of the race, the Welshman was forced to stop his Yaris and leave the route of the special after yet another problem. This time it was his left rear suspension which gave way, forcing the vice-world champion to end his day for the second time this weekend after his setbacks on Friday.
Up front, nothing seems to be able to stop Ott Tänak. The Estonian set a 7th fastest time in Sardinia during SS16. Faster than Craig Breen (M-Sport) of one second, the pilot Hyundai sees his lead increase from 45 to 46 seconds before the last start of the day. Pierre-Louis Loubet (M-Sport) took 1″6 from Dani Sordo (Hyundai) to come back to 13″5 from 3rd place.
