Croatia-SS5: Tänak wakes up, Neuville ensures

For the first outing of the afternoon, Ott Tänak (Hyundai) set the best time on SS5 this Friday. After a few modifications to his car during service, the Estonian dominated the special thanks to a time of 4'30"4.

Leader of the general, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) was scared by making a half-spin but ultimately limited the damage. The Belgian finished 2nd just 1 second behind his teammate, despite his mistake.

The pilots Toyota missed the opportunity to reduce the gap with Thierry Neuville. Sébastien Ogier finished 3rd while Elfyn Evans placed 4th. They respectively lost 6 tenths and 1 seconds to the Belgian.

Overall, Thierry Neuville is 8” ahead of Elfyn Evans and 4” ahead of Sébastien Ogier.
