Ott Tänak (Toyota) dealt another blow to his opponents by claiming his 5th scratch of the day at Wales Rally GB. The leader of the event completed the 29,13km of Brenig in 16'30''5, 6 seconds ahead of Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) and 7''2 on Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport). Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) followed at 8 seconds. Behind, the gap is greater with Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) at 16s, the Finn having been the victim of a brief outing damaging his windshield. Craig Breen (Citroën) was at the same pace and ranked ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai), Mads Ostberg (Citroën), Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) and Hayden Paddon (Hyundai).
Ott Tänak now has a lead of more than 31 seconds over Thierry Neuville who took 2nd place for just over a second ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala. Esapekka Lappi follows 3s ahead of Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) who is ahead of Craig Breen. Teemu Suninen lost 4 positions and found himself 7th ahead of Mads Ostberg, Hayden Paddon and Andreas Mikkelsen.
