While the Spa-Francorchamps circuit hosts the 24 Hours of Spa this weekend, Renault took the opportunity to set a new record in the traction category for touring cars as part of the RS Days. The Mégane RS Trophy-R, in a limited series of 500 units, has a 4hp 300-cylinder turbo engine and a weight reduction of 130kg compared to the Mégane RS Trophy, having already achieved a similar performance on the Nordschleife Nürburgring (Germany). It was Laurent Hurgon who was responsible for setting a time of 2'48''338 on the 7km Belgian route, beating the old record by 5 seconds.
