Al-Attiyah and Al-Rajhi dominate the day in Qatar

One day before the arrival of the Qatar Cross Country Rally, first round of the World Cup Rally-Raids, it is difficult to see what could prevent Nasser Al-Attiyah et Matthieu Baumel (Toyota) to win.

The tandem dominated the first timed section of the day, 227 km long and drawn on a rocky track, before seeing the other Toyota Hilux of Yazeed Al-Rajhi prove faster in the second part of the stage, taking a dune route over 121 km.

Victim of three punctures in the first sector, Al-Rajhi managed to break the series of Al-Attiyah, imperial since the start of the event. The winner of the Dakar 2019 also admits not to have taken any risks in the last competitive kilometers of the day.

Overall, Al-Attiyah maintains a 12'33" lead over Al-Rajhi, while Jakub Przygonski (Mini) retains third place on the provisional podium, more than 15' behind, after suffering three punctures.

Tomorrow, the last stage will include 263 km of sector against the clock.
