The first section of the 2020 Baja Hail consisted of two stages, Friday December 11 and Saturday December 12 in Saudi Arabia.
Already winners of Rally d’Andalousie en début d’automne, Nasser Al-Attiyah et Mathieu Baumel ont de nouveau porté leur Toyota Hilux au premier rang. Le 4×4 a remporté les deux étapes à chaque fois devant les Mini Buggy JCW de l’équipe X-Raid.

The three-time winner of the Dakar put on a show during the first day by fighting a duel of over 40 km against his best enemy Carlos Sainz. The two vehicles even touched each other twice in the dunes!

In the X-Raid clan, however, it was “Mister Dakar”, Stéphane Peterhansel, who did better than his Spanish teammate. The Saudi Yazeed Al-Rajhi (Toyota) finished just off the podium.
The second half of the Baja will take place on Tuesday December 15 and Wednesday December 16.
