Alain Prost at the relaunch

Le Andros Trophy 2010 is still far from having delivered its verdict but the performance achieved on Saturday by Jean-Philippe Dayraut should be important at the end of the season. Alain Prost, although lighter than its rival, did not manage to rise to the level of Haut-Garonnais, due to grip and adjustment problems.

Second fastest behind Dayraut in the first qualifying round, Prost tried everything in the second, making a mistake by hitting a wall of snow. With most of the points being scored during the qualifying rounds, the four-time world champion of F1 had a bad operation (54 points against 60 in Dayraut).

« I'm not really satisfied, I'm constantly looking for grip, declared the Dacia driver between the two qualifying rounds. Normally, the tires become more efficient as the laps go by. However, this is not the case and I have to fight with a car that is too lively. This leads me to make small mistakes and my times are ultimately average. »

During the final, however, the Professor managed to raise the level of his Duster, getting the better of Olivier Panis (Skoda Fabia) from the first meters of the first Elite Sup final, before finally winning (20 points) . “ Winning this final is a consolation, but we concede precious points to Jean-Philippe Dayraut in the general classification », concluded Alain Prost. “ I finished fourth with the same number of points as third. This means that I will not be taking on any ballast tomorrow (Sunday), unlike my direct opponents. We will try to take advantage of it! »
