Andretti and United Autosports team up in Extreme E

Michael Andretti and Zak Brown, the partnership makes a good impression. One owns Andretti Autosport, a figure ofIndycar Series and present in Formula E since the beginning of the series. The other leads McLaren and in this case United Autosports, a team present in prototypes all over the world. She has just won the first round of the European Le Mans Series at Castellet.

The American and the British, already partners in Australian Supercar, are joining forces to create the Andretti United Extreme E team, which will compete in the new electric SUV championship, the Extreme E. “We have had the opportunity to work together on different programs in recent years and this new adventure in Extreme E could be one of the most exciting opportunities to work together” comments Michael Andretti.  

Andretti has extensive experience in electrics via Formula E and had logically confirmed his participation in Extreme E in April. On the other hand, it will be a first for United Autosports. “We've been looking at getting into electric racing for a while and this new off-road championship looks fantastic, so I'm happy to be working with Andretti to get there." explains Zak Brown.

The team will quickly receive its Odyssey 21, the vehicle common to all participants in the championship. Andretti will find his old Indycar rival, Chip Ganassi, who is also lining up his team in the race.

The first season of the competition will begin in January 2021. Eight teams, made up of two drivers, a woman and a man, will compete in five off-road races around the world in a four-man relay race format with qualification, half- final and final. The first laps of the wheel will take place in December.
