Andros – Dubourg in a good position for the title at Super-Besse

Jean-Baptiste Dubourg (Renault Clio 3) carried out a very good operation last weekend in Lans-en-Vercors (Isère) since he left with 17 points ahead of his direct opponent Jean-Philippe Dayraut (BMW) after the six-time winner of Andros Trophy suffered a disqualification due to a loose rear bumper.

Before approaching the Super-Besse final (Puy-de-Dôme) this weekend where only one race will be contested, Jean-Baptiste Dubourg can be confident since his rival for the coronation will have to achieve a perfect weekend in winning the qualifying heats, the Super Pole, the final and the lap record, while hoping that the DA Racing driver does not finish in the top 4. Jean-Philippe Dayraut can even still be taken over by Olivier Panis (Audi A1 Quattro).

“Like last year, I will fight for the final victory in the last confrontation of the winter, but the situation is different, commented the leader of the Andros Trophy. Indeed, with a 17-point lead, I have a few match points to my advantage to get this 2nd title. I don't have the same pressure as in 2016 because it was the first time I fought for victory. This year, the main objective was to be able to defend my title chances until the end. The contract is therefore fulfilled. »

Jean-Baptiste Dubourg will be accompanied by Chistophe Cadeau who will join the ranks of the Elite Pro category after having competed in Elite in Val-Thorens (Savoie) in another Clio 3 from DA Racing. The training will be completed by Emmanuel Moinel engaged in Elite.
