Andros: a contested 2011 Trophy

During the last Andros Trophy, the ice races had quickly turned into a duel Alain Prost ? Jean-Philippe Dayraut. The latter had won, achieving the double with Skoda. But, with the departure of the reigning champion from Skoda to BMW/Saintéloc, the forces are rebalanced.

Alain Prost, after a first winter spent dissecting the teething problems of his Dacia Duster, will be keen to win a third Andros Trophy. Having been able to correct the problems noted last year with the four-wheel drive car, he will be able to concentrate on the race and the victories.

But Skoda, by losing Jean-Philippe Dayraut, “recovered” top drivers. If Olivier Panis and Grégoire Demoustier are still there, Franck Lagorce and Jacques Villeneuve have arrived in the Green clan. One is experienced on the ice, the other World Champion in F1? In any case, Skoda has every chance to shine, the Fabia Glace now being perfectly established for these snowy races.

For its part, Romain Grosjean will roll with the Renault Clio III from DA Racing. After a first winter during which he made his mark in just a few races, the former Renault F1 driver will be keen to shine throughout the season.

Jean-Philippe Dayraut, on a BMW 1 Series, is also at the forefront of the contenders for final victory, even if he has changed structure and car. But the latter, double reigning champion, will be penalized, during the opening round of Val Thorens, by 40 kg of ballast. He will be able to shed 10 kg each time he does not finish a race on the podium.

In the Electric Andros Trophy, the entry list also promises great clashes on the track. Nicolas Prost, reigning champion, will be opposed to Olivier Pernaut, Cathy Muller, Franck Lagorce, Romain Grosjean, Soheil Ayari, Marlène Broggi, Christophe Ferrier, Loïc duval, Fabien Barthez and Stéphane Ortelli!
