The partnership between Audi and Ken Block is taking shape. The German firm has indeed lifted the veil on the new S1 Hoonitron which will be used by the drift specialist. “The S1 Hoonitron combines a lot of what Audi was already famous for in the 80s, explains Ken Block. For example, the car's spectacular aerodynamics have now been translated into a completely modern form. I think it's cool that Audi designers took inspiration from their own past and uniquely transferred the technologies and appearance of the car into the present. »

The entire development, including technology, of the S1 Hoonitron was carried out by Audi Sport at the Neckarsulm site, where the Audi RS e-tron GT is produced. Audi Design (Ingolstadt) was responsible for the styling, which was anything but an ordinary job for Marc Lichte and his team. “When we first heard about this project, the whole team was immediately delighted: we had the opportunity to develop a car that combines an icon of our brand with the future, said Audi's chief designer. The idea behind this new electric model was to pay homage to the S1 of Pikes Peak.

The American driver's next video, provisionally called Elektrikhana (in reference to his famous Gymkhanas), will be made behind the wheel of this car.
