Under a magnificent Andorran sun at the start of the day, the competitors found the snow and ice of e-Andros Trophy for this 2020-2021 campaign. A start at Steps from the house which saw a scenario strongly resembling the previous season, with Aurelien Panis already above the fray.
Despite his 60 kg ballast imposed on the title holder at the opening of the championship, the driver of the Saintéloc Racing Audi A1 dominated the Elite Pro qualifying then the Super Pole and was the favorite for the Super Final. Except that Yann Ehrlacher (Dupessey AS01 – M Racing) was able to make the best start to steal first place before the poleman's parabolic.
The reigning WTCR champion controlled proceedings over the six laps, winning from Panis and Nathanaël Berthon (Peugeot e-208 – Pussier Compétition), a ranking identical to that of the day.
DA Racing follows in group shooting with Jean-Baptiste Dubourg and Nicolas Cheers who ostensibly played the card in the second race by not getting involved in the fight in the final. Disappointment for Franck Lagorce (AS01 – M Racing), only 11th this Friday.
In Elite, Margot Laffite, back after more than a year without racing after the birth of her child, brilliantly dominated the day at the wheel of Sébastien's AS01 Loeb Racing.
The daughter of Jacques Laffite had finished second in the qualifying heats behind her teammate Jérémy Sarhy, but the latter's completely missed takeoff in the final gave Margot Laffite the victory on the day's total, Sylvain Pussier having dominated the final.
In the Enedis e-Andros Trophy, local Raul Ferre wins.
