It was an unusual duel on the track to say the least between Aleix Espargaro, Maverick Viñales, Fernando Alonso et Esteban Ocon. The two crews ofAlpine and Aprilia were brought together by Castrol, their joint sponsor in Oviedo. On the track at the Fernando Alonso Museum in Spain, the four drivers had to complete a course as quickly as possible. Not on a motorcycle, nor on a car but on one Renault Clio. It must be said that the Norman and the Bull of Asturias were more comfortable than the two Spaniards more accustomed to riding on two wheels.

If Fernando Alonso gave himself a pass on the pitch, the big outing goes to Aleix Espargaro. After losing the rear of his Renault Clio, the native of Granollers ended his trajectory off the track. An error which allowed the Blues duo to win the Castrol Challenge broken down into 3 events.

Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon won a trophy to celebrate their coronation. For their part, Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Viñales were kindly invited by the host to mow the lawn of the circuit karting in Oviedo. A punishment accepted with a smile by the Aprilia duo.
