Good start for Dubourg

Jean-Baptiste Dubourg, this weekend in Val Thorens, had a double hat and coped very well with it. Driver of the “Andros” car in the Electric Trophy, the Bordeaux native was able to put his best foot forward at the wheel of these silent, “zero-emission” cars, winning two of the three races of the Savoyard weekend.

« I was already very happy to win the first race, confides JB Dubourg. Race 2 was more eventful, but I was able to finish fourth. With the reverse grid system, I started in the lead in the last race and I was able to manage. I emerged victorious from this first weekend: it?s historic since it?s the first 100% electric competition and it will remain engraved. »

In the Andros Trophy ?classic?, the driver of the Clio Renault Clio III also managed to do well by avoiding pitfalls. Second in the qualifying heats of race 1, third in the final, the Bordeaux rider remained in the same time on Sunday. Fifth at the end of the qualifying heats of race 2, Dubourg finished third in the final closing the weekend.

« With fourth place in Race 2, it?s a good day, concluded Jean-Baptiste. Despite the 40kg ballast, I was able to achieve the best time in the warm-up and a good first qualifying round. The track improved a lot during the second round and, as I started among the first, I was at a disadvantage. The overall result is positive since I leave Val Thorens tied on points with Alain Prost, but without ballast for Andorra. »
