Author of an exemplary race, Nasser Al Attiyah is in the process of defeating the great Carlos Sainz. Trapped today, the Spaniard admits that his chances are slim. If his teammate does not make a mistake, Sainz will not win his second Dakar.

Carlos Sainz: “It’s over”

Still not at the best level in the dunes, Carlos Sainz was trapped at the 13th kilometer of today's special. Plates out, the Spaniard set off again after ten minutes of difficulty.

At the hundredth kilometer, he went into the wrong valley and let more minutes slip away. At the end of this difficult tenth stage, he was twelve minutes behind Nasser Al Attiyah.

“I lost a lot of time,” he admits at the bivouac. “I had no luck today. We messed up at the beginning, then took the wrong route two or three times. We also had a puncture, and I broke the box at the end: it didn't go very well. If Nasser doesn't make a mistake, is it over? »
