Carlos Sainz doubles the stake

Carlos Sainz (Volkswagen Race Touareg 3), double World Rally Champion, was able to share all his experience this Monday. On roads that suited him perfectly and despite a few showers, the Spaniard was able to cover the 324 km of specials with the best time. Long battling with Stéphane Peterhansel (BMW X3 CC), the VW driver was finally followed by his teammate, Nasser Al-Attiyah (VW), second fastest time of the day.

But, in the general classification, it is Stéphane Peterhansel who remains closest to Carlos Sainz? at 3:05?? from Spanish. The latter built, in two days, a small advance which will allow him to approach the third stage with serenity. On the other hand, Mark Miller (VW) experienced many problems, losing 50 minutes on Sainz after having an accident at km 45. For his part, Guerlain Chicherit (Mini) signed the 7th time of the day after having experienced a first day during which he lost an hour.
