The Extreme E pulls out all the stops. Barely Has Cupra formalized its association with Abt and Mattias Ekström that the Andretti United team has revealed its crew for the inaugural season of the electric championship scheduled for 2021.
As the regulations stipulate, a woman and a man will take turns driving the SUV. For the British-American team, it will be the Englishwoman Catie Munnings and the Swede Timmy Hansen.

This choice does not come as a surprise for the 2019 world champion of rallycross (World RX), because it has been part of the Extreme E development program for over a year. However, hope passed through the Junior ERC and Junior WRC is more accustomed to rally at sprint format which will take place in Extreme E (two-lap races).
“This will be a new chapter in my career, says Timmy Hansen, 28 years old. To do it with Andretti United is fantastic. Watch United win the 24 Hours of Le Mans (in LM P2) was huge! I have deep respect for this team and I am very honored to wear their colors, as well as those of Andretti. »
Catie Munnings praises the concept of diversity desired by the creator of Extreme E, Alejandro Agag. “I knew I had to be a part of it! He is very important for female and male pilots to be placed on an equal footing.
Having the same credibility and role as my male colleagues is an excellent thing. I can’t wait to only be judged by my pace on the track. This is a step forward for motorsport. »
