It was in gray but dry weather that the CFD drivers got into trouble last weekend on the international circuit of karting of Val d’Argenton.
A short but technical route characterized by its long, rapid curves followed by a series of tight turns comprising 7 “clipping points”. The winding Deux-Sèvres circuit is the ideal place for a Dantesque show which attracted more than 10 spectators over the entire weekend.

Last year, it was the 2022 vice-champion Jason Banet who won during round 1 with his BMW 1M. The next day, his main competitor Antoine Amar won. This year, the cards have been completely reshuffled!
First of all, it was without the 2022 French champion that the first events took place. Victim of health problems, Antoine Amar decided to opt for caution and withdrew from the competition.
The surprise came from Kevin Jozou, who made everyone agree during this first round.
During the final battle, the BMW driver competed against Michaël Perottet.
At the end of a breathtaking run between the two men, combining technique, speed and proximity, the driver of the E82 managed to tip the balance in his favor, winning the favor of the judges. Victory !

Jason Banet, for his part, will take the last step of the podium after winning the small final ahead of his opponent Mathias Locatelli.
A 3rd place which was not enough to satisfy the appetite of the Subaru BRZ driver, who regained his throne in the second event of the weekend. A victory which reminds us that he is one of the best French specialists in the championship. Last year, Banet came very close to the title, just 3 points away.

During the 2nd final, he dominated the outsider Sylvain Nezondet, whose presence at this level was quite unexpected. This stroke of brilliance was rewarded on a magnificent day with a first podium in the elite category for the driver of the Nissan S15.
The next CFD event will take place on the Croix en Ternois circuit in Hauts de France from June 16 to 18, 2023. The changing conditions and high-speed triggers make it one of the most interesting events on the calendar.
