Warm atmosphere at VW

With its 368 km, this special was the last “big chunk” to swallow of this 2010 Dakar. Starting with soft dunes, it ended with a very fast section. Stéphane Peterhansel made a point of imposing his BMW X3 CC. “ The dunes were not easy to cross, they were super soft. On two occasions, we had to take two steps to climb certain ropes. Then, on the fast tracks, we had free rein, because Mark Miller, who started in front of us, had a puncture, and we were riding without any dust. »

On the Volkswagen side, the atmosphere was really very warm on arrival, between Carlos Sainz and Nasser Al Attiyah. The latter, who took over 2?32?? to Sainz, accused the latter of having stopped him. The Spaniard responded by reproaching him for his aggressiveness on the track, their two cars having touched on a fast track during a daring overtake? A few hours later, at the Santa Rosa bivouac, the two VW drivers did not mince their words in front of the television cameras and radio microphones, each accusing the other, while Kris Nissen (VW team manager), unfazed, watched on stage without intervening?

Will there finally be instructions during the night, or are we heading towards a grandiose finale, with an arrival in a handkerchief? Meet at San Carlos de Bolivar, end of the final special stage contested on Saturday over 202 km.
