This weekend, the Clio Cup counted towards the Spanish championship in Albi. As a result, the majority of drivers entered in the French championship were absent. Only some of the big teams such as GPA Racing or Milan Compétition made the trip.

Clio Cup – The French kings of Spain

The grid therefore only had thirteen cars, in a competition which is struggling to attract Spain... where the French dominate. After David Pouget's title last year, Nicolas Milan should win the Spanish crown. The only Iberian opponent at his level is Isidro Callejas (Chefo Sport).

The 16-year-old driver is impressive on one lap but makes too many mistakes. He broke the Clio's turbo in qualifying and made some nice runs off the track during both races.

The prize of the trick went to Thibaut Bossy (TB2S) in race 1. Then second, he left to hit the rail two loops from the end, leaving David Pouget free, just before the red flag. In race 2, Nicolas Milan, who started on pole, was unable to resist the return of the master of the place but his second place strengthens him in the championship.
