Kick-off of the 2019 Peugeot Sport Meetings in Lédenon
The Rencontres Peugeot Sport 2019 begins near Lédenon (Gard) on the weekend of March 23 and 24. The event organized by the Lion brand will offer two distinct categories, the Sprint with the 208 Racing Cup and the Relay in 208 Relay.
This last competition will welcome no less than 50 cars, a record in this area. The title holders David Pouget and Guillaume Plubel (PH Sport by GPA) will aim for two points. Note the arrival of several VIPs such as Mathieu baumel, double winner of the Dakar. Nasser Al-Attiyah’s co-driver will ride alongside Tom Piallat and TV journalist Gaël Robic within the PH Sport by GPA team.
“Peugeot Sport begins this new Customer Competition season with the same motivation. The Peugeot Sport Meetings confirm their success year after year and the low budget / great pleasure equation attracts nearly 200 drivers to our starting grids., enthuses Laurent Guyot, head of customer competition for the French manufacturer.
The Sprint category will have 33 vehicles. The peloton will be led by Kevin Ropars, outgoing vice-champion. The Champion of this 208 Racing Cup will be loaned by Peugeot Sport, for the following season, a 308 Racing Cup ready to race as well as six commitments for the 2019 season.
