VIDEO – The Lotus Evija X enters the Top 3 fastest laps on the Nürburgring

Records are made to be broken. Everyone knows that. Lotus therefore did not take the exercise lightly by developing the Evija (two per axle for all-wheel drive).

And as is often the case when you push the limits when developing a racing beast, Lotus has decided to launch its Evija X on the Nürburgring, where speed is hunted. Over the 20,832 kilometers and 73 turns of the Green Hell, the brand founded by Colin Chapman in the 1950s did not miss its meeting. On the contrary !

If the absolute record of the Porsche 919 Hybrid EVO in 5'19"546 established in 2018 is still out of reach, Lotus marked the occasion by signing the third best time in history on the Nürburgring for cars not approved for the road. There is certainly more than a minute difference with the Stuttgart LMP1, but the Evija Between the two is the Volkswagen ID.R which turned in 6'24"047 in 6 with Romain Dumas behind the wheel.
