PRODUCTION CATEGORY
With heavy rain falling in the middle of the first climb, the hierarchy was completely upset from the start and saw Julien Dupont then Eric Séchaud successively occupy the controls. But in a final sublime effort, it was Yannick Poinsignon who achieved his third consecutive success.
Surprising performance throughout the weekend, Philippe Schmitter places his Renault RS01 in 2nd position in the general classification, just ahead of Christophe Poinsignon and his Simca CG Turbo. Leader in practice, Ronald Garcès made a mistake on the last climb preventing him from defending his chances.
SPORTS CATEGORY
Less disruptive than in the Production category, the rain also brought its grain of salt to an already successful recipe. And at the cost of a big fight, it was Damien Chambérod who scored his third career victory at the wheel of his Norma M20FC E2SC 1.7 Turbo.
Billy Ritchen tried everything, but had to settle for second place despite a very fast final time. The good surprise came from Anthony Le Beller, at home, who placed his new Norma E2SC in third place in the general classification.
The championship is now heading to Maine-et-Loire, to La Pommeraye, to contest the 5th meeting of the 2022 season next weekend.
