Hello Andy. I was wondering what you were going to welcome me in for our ride and I am very surprised to see you behind the wheel of an electric car. Have you lost a bet?

(Laughs) No, I've always loved technology and challenges. A few years ago, I took part in a comparison between a Tesla Roadster and a Lotus Exige, and the electric performance amazed me. At that time, it was premature to attempt daily driving with such a car, but as soon as load structures began to appear, I took the plunge. This is my second Volkswagen ID.3, I love it and I go absolutely everywhere with it!

Do you have ecological fiber?

Let's say that without entering into an endless debate, I tell myself that we must try to change the course of things and electric is, perhaps, a solution. Let's try it and we'll see!

Let's put environmental concerns aside and go back in time. How did your passion for automobiles begin?

My father was a great enthusiast and he regularly took me to see a lot of races. He didn't practice, but didn't miss an opportunity to go on a circuit. For my 15th birthday (in 1976. Editor's note), he offered me a driving session at Jim Russell's driving school, based in Silverstone. I'm allowed to take a few laps at the wheel of a 1969 van Diemen Formula Ford, for the equivalent of 20 euros, and it's instantly love at first sight. I now only have one thing on my mind: continuing the two weeks of courses offered by the school and participating in the race organized at the end of the program for participants.

What is your parents' reaction?

They are absolutely not opposed to my project, but do not have the means to help me financially. As I am still in school, I have a series of odd jobs: delivering newspapers, window cleaner, etc. It takes me two years to raise the sum e
