Dan Bourgeon: “I bought my first racing car in secret”

Hello Dan, thank you for welcoming us here in Saint-Bénigne, in Ain, where your premises are based. Looks like we're going to have a nice car today...

(Laughs) Indeed, my friend Thierry Chiocci was kind enough to provide us with this Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA… It looks extraordinary, especially since only 500 examples were produced. We are privileged! I've never driven Italian cars in competition, but I'm very curious to see what it does. At first glance, I like it!

Let's take the road with it, just to get an idea. Let’s take this opportunity to talk about your youth: was motorsport a family passion?

Not really. In fact, this passion comes from my older brother. I was 8 and he was 20, he was crazy about racing cars. One day, he took me to see an event in Magny-Cours (Nièvre). That’s when I really discovered motorsport. Afterwards, we went to see all the major hill climbs near us: Donzy-le-Pertuis (Saône-et-Loire), Treffort (Isère)…

Very quickly, the soul of a builder invaded you!

J’ai construit mon premier buggy à 16 ans.
