It's the first carpooling CARhebdo in an airfield. Thanks for the experience! But then, why put us on a plane?
I always dreamed of learning to fly. My wife Vanessa offered me registration for the PPL (private pilot license) for my 40th birthday. I followed the lessons and I liked it straight away. I obtained the patent two years later. My schedule was tight with shopping. You are peaceful in the air, you walk around as you please, and when the weather is nice, the view is nice. The passion took hold of me and it’s a technical activity. You have to work 12 hours a year to keep your license, I try to do around fifteen. I went to Le Mans and Magny-Cours with it, I might go to Le Castellet too.
Is this your personal plane?
Whoa, no! It is made available by the Vallée du Loing flying club in Episy (Seine-et-Marne) of which I am a member and whom I thank in passing. Simply reserve the device and pay by the hour. It's great, very accessible and not much more expensive than the kart. It costs around 120-150 euros per flight hour, with a boarding capacity of four people. The only constraints are: the need for good weather since it is a visual flight and the ban on taking commercial passengers.
What is the most difficult thing about flying a car or a plane?
Most certainly a single-seater, at least to go fast! The plane looks difficult, but it doesn't require any special skills. If you have learned the rules, and you know your takeoff and landing maneuvers, it is within everyone's reach.
