Laurent Dupin: “I have a dream job, and the job of my dreams”

It was as Ami that we went to meet the famous journalist. During a 100% electric ride, the presenter retraced his journey, from Monaco, his hometown, to the Formula 1 grids where his sense of interview and improvisation works wonders.

Laurent Dupin: “I have a dream job, and the job of my dreams”

Hello Laurent, I learned that you are a cyclist and a pedestrian, so I suggest you take a trip in a Citroën Ami!

THANKS ! There is a rather surprising and playful toy side to it. Ultimately, it corresponds well to urban needs. I come to work by bike, and when I see the number of people alone in their cars, I tell myself that there's no point in having an SUV or a sedan, so I don't think it's bad. This surprises our generation a little, but not the next one who will be used to it.

Is the absence of a car a desire?

It's always a bit surprising given the environment in which I operate. I have lived in Paris since 1999. I had my first car then, a blue 3-door Fiat Punto Star with a small gasoline engine. I kept it until 2007 before selling it to my brother. Using the car in Paris is not very pleasant. Especially when you're not very patient like me. I first switched to a scooter, then to a bike when I turned 40.

I was told that as Charles Leclerc, you were born in Monaco. Amazing.

My parents live in Cap-d'Ail (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Editor’s note), a neighboring town. I was born there, due to the absence of maternity services in Cap-d'Ail. But in Monaco, it is the law of blood that applies and not the law of the soil. But my parents are French, so I am too. For the record, Charles was born a few days after I left for the IUT of journalism in Tours.
