Patrick Magaud: “I was lucky enough to miss school to see Monte-Carlo”

That’s for a surprise! You, who have been a Citroën almost your entire career, are asking me to go for a ride... in a Ford!

And again, it could have been with a Renault Clio Rally5, car which is part of a project that Patrice Fabre, David Bertrand and I set up. The latter has a body shop in Mées (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Editor’s note) and he is passionate about it. Everyone participated to buy this car on which we are driving a young person. It is also available for rental for other participations.

Do you want to become a team manager?

Especially not ! I just told myself that, in my own way, I was going to try to give back to motorsport what it gave me for so many years. I would have liked to do it at PSA where I spent most of my career, but they wouldn't sell me a car! In any case, their promotion formula is not interesting with a very expensive 208 and rewards divided in half. We were looking for a competition in which a driver, if he is good, can finance himself with the bonuses. Ford was not bad, but I had very good contact with Benoît Nogier (director of customer competition at Renault-Alpine. Editor's note), who is a veteran of Citroën from which he takes the best ideas. What Renault is offering corresponds to what Citroën did with the AX.

Which driver do you run?

Tom Pieri who was Rally Youth 2019 and finished 3rd in Junior in France last year. Quentin Ribaud also competes in rounds on Earth. He notably won the first
