Sébastien Boulet: “I thank my parents for following me down this path”

On the way to our meeting, I wondered what type of car you would accommodate me with. Since we are more or less the same age and you told me on the phone that you liked oldies, I imagined you waiting for me with a youngtimer...

This Berlinette is one of the first cars that Zig-Zag Motorsport Services restored for a customer. When I went to try it out after the workshop, it was love at first sight! I had a lot of preconceptions, I told myself that it must be an old car, and yet the balance amazed me instantly. She is the same age as me, she is French and has made history. The ideal car for this carpooling !

Is the car a passion for you?

I like racing cars. Beautiful automobiles in a more general way interest me, but my thing is really competition.

How does it come into your life?

As a kid, I watched the Grands Prix F1 on television with my father. In 1987, he took me to see a Production race at Paul-Ricard; looking at Jean-Pierre Beltoise with the Peugeot 505 I was fascinated. As there is the track of karting right in front, my father suggested I try it. I'm not doing too badly and I like it. Having, in his professional relations, Jean Fighiera, president of the karting league, my father asked him to let me try a 2-stroke kart and everything started from there.

Did he have an idea in mind?

No, I don't think so
