The X-Raid team will approach the 2020 Dakar (January 5-17) with significant ambitions. The team managed by Sven Quandt will enter two Mini John Cooper Works Buggy for two tenors of the rally-raid, Carlos Sainz and Stéphane Peterhansel.

For the occasion, the buggy has benefited from significant modifications to the front facade. The overhang is extremely shortened, the front tires even protrude beyond the wheel arch! Crossing the dunes should be made easier.
As for the crews, if we consider the departure of Cyril Despres, confirmed at the end of September by the person concerned on his social networks, we note the arrival of Andrea Peterhansel in place of David Castera. The Peterhansel couple, already associated in various events in 2019, will compete in the Dakar for the first time in the same cabin.
A former biker and pilot, Andrea Peterhansel is no novice. Victorious in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge earlier this season, she finished the 2004 edition of the Paris-Dakar in fifth place in a Mitsubishi Pajero.
