Dayraut is a hit in St Dié

Jean-Philippe Dayraut, second overall in the Trophée Andros, won race 1 of St Dié des Vosges, scoring a maximum of 80 points. He returns to Alain Prost.

Dayraut is a hit in St Dié

Alain Prost ? Jean-Philippe Dayraut, the duel always animates the Andros Trophy This year. The two men are in the first two places in the general classification and, this Sunday, found themselves on the front row at the start of the 2nd Elite Sup 1 final in St Dié des Vosges.

Previously, Jean-Philippe Dayraut had managed to achieve the best time during the qualifying heats, taking 60 points for first place in the cumulative ranking of the two heats. He was ahead of Franck Lagorce, Alain Prost and Olivier Panis.

During the final, Dayraut took off in front of Prost with an excellent start. For his part, the four-time World Champion must battle against Bertrand Balas. He retained his second place while Dayraut became untouchable in the lead, winning the final, which he finished with a “360”. In total for the qualifying rounds and the final, he scored 80 points.

In the 1st Elite Sup 1 final, Franck Lagorce sets off in front of his teammate Olivier Panis. The duel between the two Skoda drivers turns to the winner of the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix, who manages to overtake his friend and teammate in order to snatch the 20 points promised to the winner of the final.

In the standings for this first race at St Dié des Vosges, Jean-Philippe Dayraut (80 points) is ahead of Franck Lagorce (76), Alain Prost (74), Olivier Panis (74) and Bertrand Balas (71). In the general classification, Prost (670) leads ahead of Dayraut (661) and Olivier Panis (644).
