Dayraut: “We have made progress”

Jean-Philippe Dayraut does not regret having played the round of Andros Trophy in Isola 2000. However, due to heavy snowy weather conditions, the competition was postponed, and even almost canceled. In the end, all the races took place and Jean-Philippe Dayraut took the opportunity to do a ??perfect?? and take 160 points out of 160 possible in his pocket.

« This is the first time that I have won both races of the weekend with the maximum ballast of 60 kg, commented the Haut-Garonnais after the races. If we were capable of such a feat, it is because we have further progressed compared to the first races of the season. As the car is a little more docile while remaining very efficient, this allows you to concentrate calmly on your driving. »

“Personally, the Isola circuit posed a particular problem for me,” continues the Skoda driver. We had to remain efficient by adopting less spectacular driving. The route, narrow and technical, did not allow me to fully indulge in my usual style. I managed to be the fastest each time by being more sober. Rare were those who didn't go there with their little touch this weekend. I escaped it, and the fact of having gained in finesse is not the least of my satisfactions? apart from having widened the gap over Alain (Cheers) at the top of the Trophy, of course! »

From now on, the Skoda driver is 25 points ahead of Alain Prost in the Trophy standings. He will have the opportunity to reinforce it from Saturday and Sunday, in Lans-en-Vercors.
