Delaunay wins against Peu at Lessay

As a boss! Already winner of the first two rounds of the 2021 season of the French championship rallycross, Romuald Delaunay (Citroën DS3 WRX) imposed his law this Sunday near Lessay (Manche).

Starting from pole, the championship leader was nevertheless surprised in the first lap by 74-year-old veteran Hervé Hapnick and his Citroën DS3 WRX. Jostled, Romulad Delaunay set the record straight during the second braking of the second loop by taking back control of the final.

Once again in the lead, the winner of the first two rounds of the 2021 campaign then saw his rival Samuel Peu (Peugeot 208 RX) complete a large part of his delay. Having gone first through the joker lap (5th lap), Romuald Delaunay left the track open to Peu who did everything possible to outdistance him in order to be in a good position after passing through the extension.

Despite two laps at very high speed, the 2019 champion was unable to do anything against a Romuald Delaunay who was very comfortable on the Lessay track and who leaves Normandy with a third success in a row. Hervé Knapick completes the podium.

Present among the 8 finalists and back after two years of absence, Julien Fébreau (Peugeot 208 WRX) finished just outside the Top 5, just over 6 seconds behind Romuald Delaunay.

Ranking of the Supercars category final

In the other categories, Jimmy Terpereau (Citroën C2 S 1600) won in Super1600 as did Mathieu Trévian (Volkswagen Scirocco) and Jean-Mickaël Guérin (Peugeot 206 RC) in Division 3 and Division 4 respectively.

In the Juniors, the victory went to David Bouet (Renault Clio V RX) which consolidates itself at the top of the ranking. In the Women's French Cup, Alizée Pottier (Renault Twingo) opened her account by winning ahead of Camille Barbe.
