Dreux opens the 2011 Rallycross campaign

In the absence of the main 2010 winners, the championship which begins next weekend in Dreux promises to be particularly open. Reigning D1 champion, Davy Jeanney left to tackle the European Championship. He left his Citroën WRC » to the young Timmy Hansen, the son of Kenneth Hansen, multiple European champion of rallycross. At 19, the young Hansen graduated from the FIA Young Driver Institute. But the favorite to succeed Jeanney is Jérôme Grosset-Jannin, who will drive the Clio 3 RS "WRC", runner-up last year with David Meslier. Hervé “Knapick” will enter his new DS3 “WRC” during the season, but he will start at Dreux with the same car as last year, a 207 “WRC”.

In D1A, no less than three new cars, new on French circuits, are expected. Outgoing champion Steven Bossard is competing in the French Junior Rally Championship this year and his runner-up David Olivier will undoubtedly seek the title with a Twingo 2. After a one-year break, Dominique Gerbaud will release a Polo Mk4 D1A, while Fabien Chanoine will drive a Dacia Sandero.

In the D3 French Cup – AUTOhebdo Trophy, the top three of the 2010 vintage meet for a new confrontation. Dreux is therefore the first step in a fight that Marc Morize (Peugeot 207-Nissan T3F), Christophe Saunois (Toyota Corolla-Nissan T3F) and Henri Navail (Clio 2-Nissan T3F).

Finally, in D4, the title holder David Vincent (Renault Clio 2 RS Maxi F2000) puts his crown back on the line. Yvonnick Jagu (Audi A3 F2000) has every intention of regaining a title he lost last year.
