Le Andros Trophy, which will switch to a completely electric formula in 2019-20, has attracted a big fish. For three seasons, Renault will provide support to the defending team, DA Racing.
Jean-Baptiste Dubourg will drive one of the Renault Zoé from the Val-Thorens round (December 7-8, Savoie). A logical choice given the Bordeaux family's attachment to Losange; the Clio then the Captur four-wheel steering led “J.-B.” towards the coronation over the last four seasons.
“After four consecutive titles won in the Andros Trophy, I am very proud to have the confidence of Renault to have the opportunity to win the Zoé intended for ice racing, explains the 31-year-old pilot. It’s a real sporting and technical challenge that awaits us over the next three seasons. »
His father and Team Principal Dominique Dubourg does not hide his joy at counting on the support of a brand, after having entered Renaults privately in recent winters. “Benefiting from the support of a major manufacturer like Renault is recognition of all the work accomplished and we can be proud of the trust placed in us to develop the Zoé intended for ice racing. »
The final livery as well as the driver line-up will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
