Espíritu de Montjuïc launches the Peter Auto season in Barcelona

In 2004, Peter Auto imagined the Classic Endurance Racing as a meeting support platform Le Mans Series. What roads we travelled ever since ! Fifteen years later, the CER has become one of the headliners of Peter Auto events... and it has been emulated!

The latter, introduced last year in the form of demonstrations, was presented for the first time in competition this weekend. Also, upon arriving in Montmeló, some observers could still wonder if it was really reasonable to organize a confrontation with relatively recent models, and therefore equipped with technologies difficult to exploit in the context of races.

The answer came from the track with a clash between 19 cars: Aston Martin DBR9, Bentley Speed 8, Chrysler Viper, Ferrari 333 SP, Panoz Esperante GT1…

From this Catalan meeting, we will also remember the presence of cars that we have not seen on the track for some time, such as a Ferrari 250 GTO (1962), a Jaguar Type E 3.8L Lightweight “Low Drag” (1963), from a Alfa Romeo T33/TT3 (1972), a Lotus Esprit (1979), a Lola T600 (1981) or even a Sauber C8 Kouros (1986).

And there will be others next month at Spa-Classic, starting with a Jaguar XJS/R entered in the Heritage Touring Cup... Yet another proof that history is not static and that events are in perpetual renewal .

Not to be missed: the best moments of the Espíritu de Montjuïc will be on the program of a program hosted by Mylène Dorange, online this Tuesday at 20 p.m. on the YouTube channel by Peter Auto.
