Fisker wants to become the first manufacturer involved in Extreme E

Extreme E has so far attracted teams with experience in motorsport, mainly from the Formula E. The electric SUV championship, expected for the start of 2021, will also open up to new teams.

Please note, we are not talking about general brands at the moment, but about niche firms, like Fisker. Known for its hybrid sports Karma at the beginning of the 2010s, the brand launched by the Dane Henrik Fisker went bankrupt in the meantime, then relaunched itself in the creation... of a Electric compact SUV.

The first deliveries are expected on the American market for 2021, perfectly coinciding with the promotion of the production vehicle to Extreme E. “Alejandro Agag (founder of the competition) has enabled the democratization of electricity and I fully support its vision of reinventing the rally off-road while creating an educational platform to inform about global warming, says Henrik Fisker. Extreme E and Fisker share the same mission and the same values. »

If he manages to field an Odyssey 21 buggy for the first race in Dakar (Senegal) next year, the Danish businessman will also have to find a man and a woman in order to form a mixed crew. Chip Ganassi Racing, for example, selected off-road specialists Kyle LeDuc and Sara Price.
