GCK Motorsport turns to hydrogen for the 2024 Dakar

GCK Motorsport is now embracing the green revolution. The Guerlain Chicherit stable, seen in recent years on the stage of rallycross, wishes to reorient all of its sports programs around green energies from 2021.

With this in mind, the component rally-raid will be tackled by 2024 via the rapidly developing hydrogen technology, with the start of construction of the GCK e-Blast 1 buggy.

Based on the chassis of Peugeot 3008, the e-Blast 1 will make its debut on several events in 2021, including the next Dakar, first via an electric powertrain, coupled with a battery system offering a total of 340 hp.

The hydrogen component will arrive in January 2022, with the aim of competing in certain portions of the 2023 Dakar before arriving in the race in 2024, with two examples expected.

“I have worked to bring together my passions for motorsport and technology with my vision of a sustainable future,” emphasizes Chicherit. Living in the Alps is a daily reminder of the steps we must take to develop cutting-edge technology and use our motorsport projects as a platform to drive sustainable transformation.

I am delighted to have brought together forward-thinking specialists in their fields to produce innovative work that will make a difference. I can't wait to see our first phase come to fruition in a race that means so much to me, the Dakar. »
