IMSA – Risi Competizione will miss several races after Le Mans

Risi Competizione has confirmed the withdrawal of its Ferrari 488 GTLM for several racesIMSA following Pierre Kaffer's crash in 24 Hours of Le Mans who saw Matthieu Vaxiviere on the TDS Racing Oreca 07 cut him off.

“After a very difficult first part of the season, and more recently at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, I decided to cancel the participation of Risi Competizione in the next IMSA events in order to consolidate our resources and reflect on our programs future », indicates Giuseppe Risi, the director of the team of the same name.

The Risi Competizione began with a 3rd place in category at the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring (Florida). The rest of the season was more problematic with the Ferrari 488 GTLM being damaged at Long Beach (California) and at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin (Texas).

Giancarlo Fisichella and Toni Vilander, the two drivers entered for the season, occupy 6th place in the category.
