Jean-Baptiste Dubourg winner in Euro RX in Riga and vice-champion

Jean-Baptiste Dubourg (Peugeot ) did the job to achieve the honorary rank of European vice-champion of rallycross (Euro RX), Sunday September 15 in Riga (Latvia). The final round of this championship served as the final battle between the representative of DA Racing and his Norwegian rival Thomas Bryntesson (Volkswagen).

The four-time champion of Andros Trophy negotiated the qualifying heats well and took advantage of the poor performance of his rival, unable to find a place in the final. To top it off, an error-free race led him to success.

“It’s a superb end to the championship with this first double at the international level for DA Racing, notes Jean-Baptiste Dubourg. It’s a great satisfaction and a lot of emotions.

I am proud to win my first race in Euro RX, more than 3 km from our base. Sounding the Marseillaise on the podium gave me chills ! In addition, having your little brother in second place is a very special emotion. This will be one of the most beautiful emotions of my career, he admitted.

Good humor actually reigned within the Gironde structure after the second place ofAndrea Dubourg. However, the Peugeot 208 WRX had negotiated the first braking in last position! Enough to allow him to finish the season at the foot of the podium in the general classification.

“I'm happy to have beaten Thomas Bryntesson, who is a big name in rallycross. What a great way to end the rallycross year! Now for the Andros Trophy, I’m already looking forward to it” underlines Jean-Baptiste Dubourg, who will take to the icy slopes with a new electric Renault Zoé.
